Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)

ARENA aims to improve the competitiveness of renewable energy technologies and increase the supply of renewable energy through innovation that benefits Australian consumers and businesses.


Business Energy Advice program (BEAP)

BEAP is a free energy advisory program for small businesses (1-19 employees) across Australia that delivers face-to-face and phone consultations, helping them to discover industry specific energy saving opportunities. BEAP is funded by the Australian Government and delivered by Business Australia.


CitySwitch

CitySwitch helps office-based businesses to improve their energy and waste efficiency. The program, which is free to join, helps commercial office tenants around Australia.


Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC)

The CEFC invests to lead the market, operating with commercial rigour to address some of Australia’s toughest emissions challenges – in agriculture, energy generation and storage, infrastructure, property, transport and waste.


Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) Program

The Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) Program requires energy efficiency information to be provided in most cases when commercial office space of 1000 square metres or more is offered for sale or lease. The aim is to improve the energy efficiency of Australia's large office buildings and to ensure prospective buyers and tenants are informed. 


Energy Efficiency Opportunities - Assessment Handbook

This handbook provides guidance for large energy users on how to effectively conduct an energy efficiency assessment.  It draws on the practical experiences of companies and consultants that have undertaken effective energy assessments and can help corporations plan and implement assessments in a way that will optimise business outcomes. The handbook was designed for corporations to meet the requirements of the Energy Efficiency Opportunities (EEO) program but can be used by any large energy user.

The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources has developed a comprehensive list of resources, programs and tools for businesses.


Energy Made Easy

Energy Made Easy is an Australian Government website that provides small businesses with the ability to compare electricity plan prices, understand your usage and learn more about energy efficiency, contracts and the energy market.


Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) program

The E3 program is a cross jurisdictional program through which the Australian Government, states and territories and the New Zealand Government collaborate to deliver a single, integrated program on energy efficiency standards and energy labelling for equipment and appliances.


National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS)

NABERS is a simple, reliable sustainability rating building efficiency across energy, water, waste and indoor environment. This helps building owners and tenancies to understand their building’s performance versus other similar buildings, providing a benchmark for progress.
