Agriculture Energy Investment Plan

The Victorian Government’s announcements also included a $30 million top up for the Agriculture Energy Investment Plan to support Victorian agribusinesses to improve their energy management.

Business Recovery Energy Efficiency Fund (BREEF)

Last but not least, announcements were made for a $31 million Business Recovery Energy Efficiency  Fund for large energy users to transform the way industry uses energy by implementing energy upgrades.  Phase 2 applications closed in January 2021.

Feed-in Tariff changes

Victoria’s Essential Services Commission has released a decision to reduce the minimum feed-in tariff (FiT) for when excess energy generated by households and businesses is sold back to the grid from 10.2 to 6.7 cents/kWh.

The changes come into effect 1 July 2021 – learn more here or by discussing it with your electricity retailer.

Victorian Energy UpgradeS (VEU)

In case you missed all the energy related commitments in the November budget – the Victorian Government announced smart stimulus measures targeted at businesses, including several announcements relating to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program, which allows businesses access to discounted energy-efficient products and services. The average business stands to save an average $3,700 per annum on its electricity bill.
